“BLU Pure XL” in the eyes of a TechAdict

First Look

Frustrated with how expensive phones have become these days, of how no good phone is available for a low-price range? These days most companies focus on offering good specifications only on their flagship phones to make the most profit out of them, however, the company “Blu” took the initiative to offer a great smartphone at a cheap price of only around $300 known as “Blu PURE XL.”

Even though this phone was released in 2015, it still is able to compete with some of the best phones on the market and still may be cheaper than them comparatively. The phone offers a whopping 64GB of storage which is the same as that offered by the Samsung Galaxy S8, and a 3GB Ram which can handle multiple tasks simultaneously without the phone slowing down. It comes with an octa-core processor with the chipset being powered by MediaTek and if you are excessive use of your phone, do not worry as the 3500mAh battery can easily last a whole day.

The Details

It offers a big 6” AMOLED screen with wide viewing angles and its Corning Gorilla Glass covering protects it from being scratched. The screen is very bright and easy to see even in sunlight. The phone also supports multi-touch and a 4G connection can also be run on it. The rear camera on it is spectacular, it being of 24 megapixels allowing you to take great pictures. The front, of 8 megapixels, allows you to take decent selfies. One of the important features of this phone is that it comes unlocked out of the box and you are not restricted to using a SIM of a single telecommunication company and this can be a big relief for many users.

The phone has a very sleek and simply beautiful design, with a fingerprint scanner present on the rear side as well making your phone more secure. The bezels are also very small according to the current trend in the cell phone market and the speakers are also on the back offering very high volume. It also has support for 2 Sims cards and unlike most new phones these days offers a headphone jack. The phone comes in 2 colors black and gold, both of which look stunning.

The only negative point about the phone is that the software is greatly outdated. The phone comes with Android 5.0 compared to newer phones offering Android 8.0 and the Android 9.0 on the verge of its release. So, if you choose to acquire this phone, you’ll miss out on the new features available in the latest smartphones, however, that is not a big deal for someone who just needs a phone for regular use.

Conclusion

After taking into consideration all the ups and downs of the phone, I came to the conclusion that I would suggest you to buy it as it is able to handle most of the functions you require and considering the cheap price range, there aren’t many brands with such a well-built phone. However, this is not your cup of tea if you are interested in devices with the latest Android software.
