Galaxy Note 8 in the eyes of a TechAdict
First Look
Samsung has a lot to prove with the Galaxy Note 8 after the battery debacle of 2016. They have seemed to “totally redeemed themselves” and given note lovers a great new sister with the Galaxy Note 8. She comes with all the usual features such as a large screen, s pen, waterproofing as well as wireless charging. That is not all this new edition to the Galaxy Note Family brings.
At first look, the Galaxy Note 8 seems a little taller than most phones its size. Weighing in at 6.3 in, the Note 8 is one of the tallest phones around. This can make it a little difficult to reach the edge controls or the top of the screen. Other than that, the phone has a very nice feel in the hand as it is made of premium materials.
The addition of two cameras seems to be the new standard and is not left out in this new note 8 Model. Photos should be a breeze with this lens setup and with dual led flash. The one thing we noticed is that the Note 8 is almost identical to the Samsung s8+. The screen size is only 0.1mm larger. They look almost identical. The one main difference is the S-Pen. So, if you want the S-Pen you need the note
The Details
Number 8 features the new 835 Snapdragon, dual camera, curved edges, 6GB ram, dual SIM card slots and can accept a micro SD card up to 256GB. Unfortunately, there is no removable battery which a deal breaker for some users can be. Of course, the Note 8 features the addition of the S-Pen. The S-Pen gets you features such as screen write, translate go, smart select and screen off memo.
The battery life could be better but that is a limitation of the smaller size of the battery of the Note 8. More so than the Galaxy s8 or previous Note models. Over all the battery should last you most of the day and not be a problem.
Conclusion
Overall the Galaxy Note 8 is a great phone with great capabilities, with a big price tag. Give it some time and the price will go down but if you must have it, get it. The Note series of phones are great and have features like no other phone available on the market.
